Supporting undergraduate students preparing for property careers

Following on from the NZ Case Challenge the Property Foundation supported three student teams to compete in the Australasian case challenge, PropConnex, hosted by NAB across the ditch in Sydney.

The students for Auckland, Massey and Lincoln were up against 13 Aussie universities, presenting their solutions to a very challenging case centered on a distressed US multifamily portfolio. Lincoln made it to the final four but alas the two winning spots were taken out by Sydney and Queensland, but it was a close-run thing.

All three Kiwi teams had an awesome experience – competing at such a high level in the NZ Case Challenge then Prop Connex, beginning to build their NZ and international networks and gaining the attention and respect of all the 12 NZ and 24 Australian industry judges (and potential employers) who were involved.

“This taught me more about how property actually works than anything I've done in a classroom.”
