Turn Your Research Into Real-World Impact
Property Research Translation Competition 2025
The Property Research Translation Competition encourages academic researchers to ‘translate’ original property related research into language and format that is accessible to non-academics working in the property industry.
The competition is open to researchers based at any NZ tertiary institute.
- Research-active Faculty staff with a minimum appointment requirement of 0.2 FTE.
- PhD Students graduated after 2023, and current Master’s students and PhD students.
Only translations of your own or co-authored research published in academic journals, technical reports, PhD dissertations or Master’s dissertations since 1 January 2020 that are relevant to the property industry in New Zealand are eligible. Emailed entries must be no more than 750 words, including text in tables, charts and images. Submissions close on 30 November 2025.
The top three entries by faculty staff and the top three entries by Master’s and PhD students will go forward to final judging at an event in Auckland in March 2026. Those shortlisted are asked to give a 3-minute verbal presentation, ‘elevator pitch style’, to a panel of industry professionals.
In each group, the prizes will be:
- First $1,500
- Second $750
- Third $500
